It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Knowing and understanding the implications of your family history of cancer is an important aspect of breast cancer prevention and treatment. If you have immediate family members who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, you are at a higher risk for diagnosis and may consider familial mutation for certain genes that are linked to causing breast cancer (like BRCA1 and BRCA2).
At Genetics Center, we proudly show our support for all those affected by breast cancer and will continue to provide excellent care to breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as their family members who seek genetic counseling and testing. Our knowledgeable and compassionate genetic counselors will review your family history and talk you through the testing process. We offer multiple options for hereditary breast cancer syndrome testing, including testing the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.
Genetics Center is committed to helping our patients stay informed and actively participate in improving their health. Thank you for allowing us to take part in your care.
