July is National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness & Prevention Month
Each year in the United States, thousands of infants are born with orofacial clefts or other craniofacial conditions that can include cleft lip with or without cleft palate, craniosynostosis and microtia/anotia, among others. These orofacial findings can be hereditary, and comprehensive medical genetics evaluation and possibly genetic testing may be indicated.
Genetics Center supports the accurate diagnosis of associated genetic conditions through various molecular and cytogenetics test offerings through our center. We are committed to helping raise awareness and promote the understanding of cleft and craniofacial conditions during this month and in the future.
